The S&P Global Energy Tier 1 Cleantech Companies list is one of the most credible supplier evaluation systems in the global clean energy technology sector. The 2026 Tier 1 assessment covers five core components of clean energy technology: photovoltaic modules, photovoltaic inverters, wind turbines, battery energy storage systems, and energy storage battery cells The selection mechanism adheres to a dual stringent screening process. First, based on the global shipment or installation volume of each enterprise from the previous year, the top 30 enterprises worldwide are selected in each of the five major technology categories. Subsequently, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted from six key dimensions, including market share and influence, production capacity scale and global layout, financial performance, and sustainable development. Enterprises must exceed the minimum evaluation threshold in at least four dimensions to be ultimately included in the list. Notably, the 2026 Tier 1 list elevates the evaluation of financial performance to a new level through the S&P Global RiskGauge credit risk assessment tool.
